The Town of Whitmire (system I.D.# SC3610004) owns and operates The Whitmire Filtration Plant, which is the source of the town’s drinking water supply. The source water intake is the Enoree River, located in the Broad Basin in Newberry County. Current population served is 2,256. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC) mandate us to test for various constituents in drinking water yearly. We are required by EPA and SCDHEC to publish these results in an annual water quality report (also called Consumer Confidence Report), which is designed to inform you about the water quality and services we deliver to you every day and what it means. Our constant goal is to provide you with a safe and dependable supply of drinking water. Please contact The Whitmire Filtration plant at (803) 694-3568 if you have any further questions about your water.
